You may remember a while back we announced that we are the most awarded confectioner in the South West, well it gets better! Last week we headed to Exeter Cathedral for the Taste of the West awards ceremony, where they announced the champion of each category. We were up against some stiff competition, so when they read out the winning product description, we were very surprised.
“A kick of saltiness to compliment the sweet caramel, nuts and chocolate; mixed together in one bite to give an awesome combination. Gives a wonderful ‘snap’ when broken.”
Our Almond Brittle covered in chocolate was the winner! The Champions of Confectionery 2016. We only launched the Almond Brittle last year so were over the moon that it won.
It was a fantastic day, a feast was provided using ingredients from some of the Taste of the West Champions. It included a charcuterie platter, a feast of chicken, gammon and beef, a delicious lemon posset pudding, then treats with coffee (including our fudge!).
The question is, what are we going to enter next year so we can maintain our champion status?!
