Search engine

Our website search and decision notice search is powered by WordPress & Woocommerce. Search queries and results are logged anonymously to help us improve our website and search functionality. No user-specific data is collected by either Buttermilk or any third party.

E-newsletter

We use a third party provider, Campaign Monitor, to deliver our monthly e-newsletters. We gather statistics around email opening and clicks using industry standard technologies including clear gifs to help us monitor and improve our e-newsletter. Security and performance

Buttermilk uses a third party service to help maintain the security and performance of the Buttermilk website. To deliver this service it processes the IP addresses of visitors to the Buttermilk website.

Website

We use third party services WordPress / Woocommerce to publish our website and products. This site is hosted with WPEngine, which is run by Spring Media Design Ltd.  We use Google Analytics to collect anonymous information about users’ activity on the site, for example the number of users viewing pages on the site, to monitor and report on the effectiveness of the site and help us improve it. If a visitor wants to comment or send a message to Buttermilk, Woocommerce requires visitors to enter a name and email address. CONTACTING BUTTERMILK VIA SOCIAL MEDIA

We use a third party provider, Hootsuite to manage our social media interactions.

If you send us a private or direct message via social media the message will be stored by Hootsuite for three months. It will not be shared with any other organisations.

THE LEGAL BASIS’ USED FOR PROCESSING YOUR DATA:

WHERE YOUR DATA IS STORED:

We store your data on secure servers in the European Economic Area (EEA) via Fasthosts (except for data that we gather when you sign up to our email alerts). By submitting your personal data, you agree to this.

HOW LONG DO WE RETAIN YOUR DATA:

We retain your data as long as you are an active customer, or reader of our newsletters.

WHEN YOU SIGN UP TO OUR EMAIL ALERTS:

We use the Campaign Monitor Delivery platform, for our email alerts.

As a subscriber to our email newsletter, we may contact you from time to time to inform you of company updates or interesting marketing information, we will also provide clear opt out instructions at the base of all marketing email communications should you wish not to receive communication from us in future.

KEEPING YOUR DATA SECURE:

Sending information over the internet is generally not completely secure, and we can’t guarantee the security of your data while it’s in transit.  Any data you send is at your own risk.

We have robust procedures and security features compliant with the GDPR in place to keep your data secure once we receive it.

DISCLOSING YOUR INFORMATION:

We may pass on your personal information if we have a legal obligation to do so, or if we must enforce or apply our terms of use and other agreements.
